If you’ve been a fan of Virgil Abloh’s work in the past Then you may know how difficult it can be to purchase his pieces. Particularly the pieces that he does in collaboration with other brands. Especially Nike. Sometimes it can feel like it’s nearly impossible to actually get some of the best pieces, so I’m going to explain a few ways that may help you get a few of the pieces that you really need to add to your collection.
Anything that used to be dropped on the off white website would not be too terribly difficult to get, but if you’re there a few weeks after the drop then you may be out of luck. If all you were looking for are these pieces there are good secondhand sites to buy usually brand new items for only slightly more than they would have been charging on the retail site. StockX is a good site to use. If you’re familiar with stock X then you know if you were buying sneakers on there you’re going to pay quite a bit of a markup price, but typically 4 shirts pants or hoodies from brands like off white the markup isn’t as ridiculous. No if you are going for Sneakers, particularly any of the Nike off-white collaboration shoes this is not the site that I would recommend. If you’re like me if you do not get if you do not get these sites these shoes off of the retail website when it drops you are never going to get them because they go from there $200 retail price to a resale price that could be well over $1000.
There are a few ways to help your chances of getting them on a retail site which I’m going to explain, but nine times out of ten
I would say be ready for disappointment. In all my personal experience of trying to get these shoes through the Nike website I’ve gotten one out of probably 25 to 30. However there are a few methods that can help. The first one I would recommend is having your notifications on so you know exactly when the shoe drops. Your best chances would be on a shock drop, which is a drop that is not scheduled out ahead of time. These are your best odds because when everybody is sitting on their computer waiting to press the add to cart button on an actual release day there is way more competition then on these shock drops.
Sometimes these shoes will also be released in a very limited number at retail stores. Finding which of your local stores may have a few pairs also gives you better odds than going online. Some of these stores will have raffles that you can enter and if your ticket is pulled you will get a chance to purchase the shoe. These odds are way better than just going on the website when the shoe is released.
There is another option but it is frowned upon and that would be getting a bot. You can purchase bots online for anywhere between 10 to $100 depending on its effectiveness. What a bot does is automatically fills out all of your information and essentially hits the pay now button for you quicker than humanly possible. These are not guaranteed to get you issue as a lot of people use them now, but you will have better odds than a normal person would have. Now these sites do not encourage you to use them and some will ban you immediately if they see you have used a bot, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. I do not personally use bots because I think it kind of takes away from the community, but I do understand their use and effectiveness. So I would say use at your own risk.
