The Ten

The 10 is perhaps the most popular collaboration ever made by Virgil Abloh. It is a collection that started off his relationship with Nike and led to many many more shoes being created as well as some apparel. Every shoe in this pack has become iconic in recent years, and the resale prices have skyrocketed tremendously because people are realizing just how good this collaboration was.

The 10 is a collaboration between Nike and Virgil Abloh that featured 10 of Nike signature silhouettes done up in Virgil's signature style. The 10 silhouettes that were used were the Air Force 1 low, Air Aresto, Air Max 97, 2017 Hyperdunk, Chuck Taylor, Air Max 90, Vapor Max, Blazer high, Zoom Vaporfly, and the Air Jordan 1.

The shoes featured the famous quotations from Virgil A

bloh on the shoe on the shoelace of all of them and on the midsole and upper of some others. They also featured some more deconstructed looks with more exposed pieces that stick out and different materials than are commonly used. And all of them feature the signature plastic tag hanging from the shoelaces. Virgil’s take on these classic Nike silhouettes has proven to be perhaps his most iconic design. In particular the air Jordan 1. All of the other silhouettes that he redefined used basic either white or black colorways with a few flashes of color particularly only coming from the red hangtag and a few yellow tags along some of the shoes. What was different about the Jordan one was that it re designed perhaps the most iconic colorway of the model to ever release, the Chicago. Redoing a classic like this is a very bold and risky move. If you don’t do it correctly people in the sneaker community will absolutely hate it and probably never look from anything from you again. That Chicago was first worn by Michael Jordan in 1985 and is probably the most coveted of the air Jordan one models. Virgil’s take on it deconstructed the shoe move it around some logos used his classic quotations on the midsole and made parts on the shoe deconstructed. It proved to be perhaps his most iconic sneaker ever, and to me personally it is the best design shoe that I have ever seen and if I ever have the money to get my hands on a pair I will do it without hesitation
